cRISTELLE hucker l.c.b.a-c.i.c.b
Miss Cristelle began her dance story at the age of 3 at a local school in her hometown of Ararat. Here she learned ballet (RAD syllabus), jazz and tap, successfully passing exams in all genres.
At the age of 9, she started travelling to Ballarat to train with the esteemed Carole Oliver OAM, this is where she was introduced to the Cecchetti method. In her 6 years with Miss Carole, Cristelle completed up to her Advanced 1 Cecchetti ballet exam as well as continuing to train in jazz and tap with Kelly Aykers and Rachel Symmons.
In 2002, Cristelle made the move out of home to Melbourne to study full-time at the Australian Conservertoire of Ballet, directed by Christine Walsh, former Principal dancer with the Australian Ballet. In 2003, Cristelle started training at Dance Factory, studying ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, contemporary, pas de deux, singing, drama, musical theatre, acrobatics and funk. At the age of 18, she graduated with a Diploma of Dance and Performing Arts and DFTA teaching certificate.
Since completing full-time studies, Cristelle has worked professionally as a dancer, singer, actor and model all over Australia with Showtime Attractions, Nickelodeon, the ABC and Channel 7.
Miss Cristelle has been teaching dance for almost two decades at many schools throughout Victoria, she has a passion for inspiring the next generation of dancers.
In 2013, Miss Cristelle returned to her Cecchetti roots and completed her Cecchetti Associate exam under the guidance of one of Australia’s original ballerinas, Miss Lorraine Blackbourne OAM, affectionately known as Miss B. Miss B then trained Cristelle through her Associate Diploma and Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management.
2017 saw Miss Cristelle attain her Cecchetti Licentiate status under mentor, Miss Anne Butler, a highly regarded Cecchetti Ballet examiner and history buff.
Miss Cristelle is always updating and upgrading her qualifications to meet the industry’s ever evolving standards and is excited to be able to continue to learn and grow as a ballet/dance teacher and to share her knowledge with her students. She adores to watch all children discover the joy that dance can bring.
“To me, ballet is the single most beautiful thing you can do with your body. Not only is it visually exquisite but it feels beautiful too.”
